Racing Motorbikes
by Josiah Williams
Homeschool, Karalee, Qld
Three,
Two,
One,
Go!
The dust flies into the air as the speed bikes
Spring into
action.
They are like colored lightning
As they race down the track.
The Yamaha is in the lead.
Like a red streak he races without
looking back.
He has been over taken by the Kawasaki !
The Yamaha is second.
They’re coming round the corner
To the last lap
The Kawasaki wins
And everyone starts to clap!
The Kilt
by Alexandra Gregor
Fernvale, Qld
I step onto the stage with a heavy
thought in mind.
My head is blooming with excitement and fear.
I love to dance with my kilt
I feel although it's my partner.
The music starts my heart explodes with
joy.
I start to dance I let go and the music fills my body.
Jumping like there's no tomorrow I feel I cannot stop.
I
step together and bow, the dance and music is over.
I stand and smile as
the clapping never stops.
I leave the stage with joy still flowing.
Panting like a dog I walk up to
the change room.
As I leave the theatre I cannot wipe the smile off my face.
I love to dance I love to see the faces of amazement as
I dance.
The stage is my home its where I belong.
And nothing can take me away from
it.
My kilt is my partner I feel like I'm a part of it and it's
a part of me.
We dance together and it never leaves my heart.
Racism
By Dereje Bushell
St Mary’s
Primary School, Ipswich, Qld
Racism should not be here in our world.
If there was no racism,
Our world would be a better place.
Sometimes people are racist because they
don't understand.
When people don’t understand
they can become very nasty
and angry .
People should learn to be more.
understanding towards other people's cultures
backgrounds and race.
Differences make up our world,
this is what our world revolves
around.
These differences can help people become a better person.
After all we all
are a part of this world,
we all belong here equally.
Like the trees, sky and stars,
we all have the right to be here.
