Lolly Warehouse
by Cameron Stevens
Karalee State School, Karalee Qld

Driving to the Lolly Warehouse
Are we nearly there?
Driving to the Lolly Warehouse
I think I just saw it, yes it’s over there
I’ll buy a bit of sherbet
Then I’ll buy some more
I’ll buy a bit of sherbet
I’ll try to buy it all
Where are the monster gobstoppers?
I think I’ll just take two
Where are the monster gobstoppers?
Actually I’ll buy a few
Mum said we have to go
I’m all out of money
Mum said we have to go
Hang on, where’s my Honey

Tsunami Terror
by Madeline Gould
Burpengary State School, Burpengary, Qld

Deadly waves wash ashore.
Terror spreads throughout the town,
People running for the mountains,
Trying to save themselves and their loved ones.
People lay dead on the lonely beaches,
Buildings turned into matchsticks-grass into pulp-
All is lost in this horrendous place.

No buildings, no colour, so much water but no food,
No smiling faces, no happiness anymore.
I am frightened, miserable and lost in this hopeless place.
How am I to survive?

What will become of me?

Music
by Samantha Paterson
Newells Beach, Qld

Music is like buds bursting and blooming into beautiful flowers
Music is like the sun going down with a hot and busy day,
and the moon coming up,
calm and peaceful.
Music is like the warmth of love when someone gives you a hug.
Music is like the awakening of a new happy life,
full of smiles and joyous moments.
Music is like a withering rose that is suddenly watered
by its lovely sound and feeling
Music is what I live for!
