The birds of prey
Swoop down
Towards the buildings
Impact. ..
Their beaks tear and twist
The spaghetti framework
And the walls crumble
People scream -
Small dots,
Falling out of the
Frying pan, into
Death
Fire blazes
Sirens wail
Confusion reigns
Ash and dust spew
From the
Collapsing icons
Heroes are not enough
Nothing is enough
Flyers for the missing
Who will not be
Seen again ...
Ever
Amazing grace
Memorials
And the evil lurks
Far away
But still waiting
Still terrorising
Mocking the helpless
And the innocent
Ending the world
With fire and hate
And weapons that
"Don't exist"
The birds of prey
Are still in the world
Two birds cannot
Be killed with one stone
And more appear
Every day
More fighting
More killing
More tragedy
But if terrorism is a bird
Hope and humanity
Must become a fierce cat
