My Family are Quite.. Weird
by Catherine Robertson
In my family,
The people are quite strange.
They pick, and phone, and drink, and snore,
I wish they all would change!
My little brother's Corey.
I know his name's just fine.
But ... he likes to pick his sores!
And does it all the time.
I
And then there's big fat Frannie.
Talks on her phone a lot.
There's only a tiny problem,
She always eats her snot!
My Aunty is also quite nasty.
(She's on my mother's side)
She likes to race her motorbikes.
She likes when they collide!
Next there is my little niece.
She's a cutie pie.
I get into lots of trouble.
Because she tends to lie!
My mother is the very worst!
She likes to drink a heap.
And if that is not bad enough,
Dad snores when he's asleep!
I guess that that concludes my talk.
Even though they said
"She may have a lot to say,
But I laugh when she's in bed!"
I chew the lollies in the day,
I chew them in the night,
This may not be all that great,
... I love every bite!
In my family,
The people are quite strange.
They pick, and phone, and drink, and snore,
But ... I love them all the same!
I Can See the Sea
by John Smith
Are we nearly there yet?
How much more to go?
We’ve been driving for ages,
Time is moving slow.
Are we nearly there yet?
Who can see the sea?
Cannot be much further,
I bet it will be me.
Are we nearly there yet?
And then I shout out with glee,
I can see the sea,
The sea, the sea, I see.
As the Cyclone Approaches
by Carly Booth
As the leaves cry in the wind,
The trees bow down.
They shed their tears
As my backyard pleads for forgiveness.
The once distant storm has come upon us.
The trees surrender
And the brutal rain falls
As the harsh winds blow.
The cyclone draws near.
People are screaming.
They run, they hide.
From the treacherous winds.
People flee in terror
As buildings disintegrate.
Houses are gone
And the cyclone laughs in victory.
The town is in ruins
And people are homeless.
How relieved they are
Now that the angry wind has finally gone.
