Dancing
by Perrin Tarlinton
Arms moving slowly
Feet moving fast
Bodies going this way and that
Bodies twisting through the air
Whirling on the stage
Arms Stretching up
Arms reaching down
Legs stretching through the air
Backs bent low
Jumping on the stage
Hair in a bun
Hair swirling around
Fingers twirling in the dance
Toes pointed low
Leaping on the stage
Feet lifted high
Knees bent high off the ground
Head moving around
Dancers smiling
Twirling on the stage
Cattle Work
by Fletcher Apel
Dust up my nose
And flies on cows’ eyes
Dad fixing fences…
“Quick. Shut the gate!”
Mum squealing, “Hurry”.
Scramble up rails
Beast right behind me,
Charging and snorting.
Dad swings his stick,
Thump on her rump.
“Yip. Yip. Get up there!”
Cow in the dip…
Splash!
Bats
by Madison Lenihan
Echoes!
Echoes!
Echoes!
I find my way.
I find my prey.
Echoes!
Echoes!
Echoes!
The Cat
by Phoenix Boswood-Jukes
An orange Cat crouches down
Shaggy hAir
touches the ground
STripy tail curls around
Jungle
by Dustin Blanch
Sloths sleeping,
Tigers leaping,
Snakes slithering,
Toucans flying,
Frogs hopping,
Toads spraying,
Monkeys climbing,
In the green jungle.
Praying Mantis
by Slaine Dodrill
I was in the garden playing,
When I saw someone praying,
A long skinny fellow,
Who was dressed in green and yellow.
He was almost disguised,
Except for his huge eyes,
Which were carefully searching,
In the branches swaying and lurching.
In the blink of an eye,
He catches a fly,
Strong spiky arms gripping,
As his hungry mouth starts ripping.
