Lovespice
by Julie Lynch
ain’t no perfect cinnamon for love, baby
no nutmeg, licorice, cloves
to zing it up sweet, toll-free
yr grains of paradise won’t do the trick
for me
cuz there ain’t no spicy sinnamon for love, baby
ain’t no herbal remedy for love, baby
although I do recall my Opheliac
rosemary –
French lavender’s my karmic balm – well that
may be –
but don’t you try yr amaranthine wiles on me
cuz ain’t no chaste
tree herb for heartstop love, baby
ain’t no aphrodisiac for love, baby
tho’ wine and chocolate
taste divine – they shake my tree –
no crayfish, oysters in their
shells, calamari
no rhino horn no Spanish fly no yohimbe
no tribulus maca ecstasy resp EE
SEE TEE
ain’t none no blissbomb substitute for love, baby
ain’t no notion sure enough
ain’t no potion pure enough
no devotion can endure enough
no ocean no lotion no emotion no commotion
no doin’ the locomotion
same as love, baby
ain’t no fit sinamon for love, baby
adoration’s close but it don’t turn my key
affection is yo if
yr talkin’ ‘bout yr bro
desire’s flame intoxicates but
soon fades low
ineffable deep feelin’ sure does get me reelin’
i’m wheelin’ on
the ceilin’, i’m kneelin’ and
i’m dealin’
girl, i need some soothin’ healin’
but there ain’t no swanky
sinonom for love, baby
it ain’t no evil angel sittin’ at yer table
it ain’t no
fool of time, ain’t no sin, ain’t sublime
ain’t sea deep,
ain’t knee deep, ain’t no shame if it
makes you weep
it ain’t no crucifixion, no addiction, no sad fiction
ain’t coincidental,
sentimental, monumental
don’t down you, don’t stone you, don’t
crown you, don’t
own you
ain’t no red, red rose, ain’t no twinkle in yer toes
there ain’t no perfect synonym for
pure unadulterated
unpretentious, fresh untainted
simple unsophisticated
underrated……….overrated
-I was smitten now i’ jaded-
look out girl, i’ complicated!
Love, baby
No symbol
No fine word
No religion
Power
Glory
(ain’t no antonym either, babe, but that’s another story)
