Memories
by Amanda Chaudhari
Bundamba, Qld
I see you,
Playing in the park with me,
Singing to me,
Helping me,
But memories fade.
I hear you,
Talking to mum,
Reading to me,
Humming to me,
But memories fade.
I feel you,
Kissing me goodnight,
Holding my hand,
Touching my face,
But memories fade.
I smell you,
And your cologne,
Your shaving cream,
The foods you ate,
But memories fade.
Family Breakfast
byAmanda Chaudhari
Bundamba, Qld
The Burning smell
Of overcooked toast
As its
Hot and smouldering surface
Falls on my cold feet.
My hungry sister's cries,
Like a hot kettle
She slowly boils over .
In the warmth of our family kitchen
Is the welcoming sight of a colourful table
Set for a hearty meal.
