Be the Change you Want to See in the World
by Wensy Ng of
St. Luke’s Grammar School, Dee Why, NSW

As I compare the two,
I realise how different they are.

One is perfect, happy, and blissful.
The other is broken, sad, unoptional.

Who knew what would happen,
If the two swap places.

One would be in a wonder and a fantasy.
The other would be in horror and disgust.

Clean, beautiful and lovely,
Compared to dirty, smelly and disgraceful.

One could describe it as horrible.
And unfair.

But one could also not give a care in the world about it.
Ignore it or pretend it wasn't there.

But it is.
How can we solve this problem?

And the question is hanging in the air,
No one bothering to answer it.

Some try, and give up,
Some have no choice but to ignore.

In this world we do have a choice.
A choice for everything.

And the two need to know that.
Both were on opposite sides of the world.

One in hunger, poverty and starvation.
The other in happiness, freedom and food.

We need to solve this problem.
As Gandhi once said-

"Be the change you want to see in the world."

My Cat Holden

He looks like a tiger, hunts like a cheetah, rips up my pillow and jumps on my
head, and….. He watches TV; He sleeps like he owns the world with his arms
and legs spread out. He is also spoilt. Look at him now he is getting ready to
pounce on…………… oh… no……………….. me!.................................... MUM!
