Amazing Clouds
by Tanya Sinha
Goodna, Qld
Fluffy, big, tall and round,
White, grey, black and browned.
Sometimes lions, penguins, zebras and sheep I see,
Clouds, Clouds, everywhere they be.
Over the hill, mountain and river,
Our planet’s water giver.
Sometimes in the pitter patter of the rain,
Through the gushing river, making a long train.
From the sky they come down,
As if they have a race in town.
From the window I sit and watch,
On the glass, making patterns of hopscotch.
The rain will soon stop.
The clouds will be gone.
But I know they will be soon up there,
To bring water for us all to share.
THANK YOU clouds all big and small,
Water! The wonderful gift you give us all.
A Tree in All Seasons
by Columbine Dore
Toowoomba, Qld
Trees are pretty in Spring when they are covered with flowers.
Trees are shady in Summer when they are packed with green leaves.
Trees are beautiful in Autumn when they are sparkling with golden leaves.
Trees are handsome when they are covered with white snow.
My Dog
by Lauren Gibson
Warrill View State School, Warrill View, Qld
My mostly black dog is called Jess
Sometimes she makes a big mess
She barks all night
But gives nothing a fright
She is just a puppy
I guess
