From Page to Stage: Ipswich Performance Poetry Competition

stool on an empty stage

Date: Not being held in 2014

The inaugural Ipswich Performance Poetry Competition, launched in October 2012, gave poets of all ages the opportunity to compete for a share in cash and prizes to the value of $1,640. Competition entries were submitted in audio or audio-visual format. From these, judges selected ten entrants to perform live on stage in front of the judging panel and audience members at an Awards evening at the Ipswich Civic Centre on Saturday, 20 April 2013.

Congratulations to all of our finalists. All performances were of the highest calibre, and the judges' decision was far from easy. Special congratulations to our winners:

First Place - Renee Edson, with the poem, The Forsaken by Duncan Campbell Scott.
Runner-up - Janet Findlay, with her own poem, My American Underpants.

Expressions of interest are sought from individuals or groups willing to be involved in organising a future From Page to Stage event.
