The WordFood Slam - Ipswich Heat

Poetry Slam performer

with renowned performance poet and Slam MC "Ghostboy".
Special guest performance by one of Brisbane's most eclectic and respected singer/songwriters, Skye Staniford.

  • Calling all Slam Masters, Street & Beat Spoken Word Maestros, Hip Hop Freestylers, Kaiku Writers and Performance Poets. This event is for you!
  • Each person slams their words to a live audience, with 5 members of that audience selected to score each poet's work.
  • The first 16 people to sign up on the night get to take the mike for 2 minutes and rip up the stage with fresh verses and tight rhymes.

All 4 top competitors represented Ipswich in the Wordfood Slam Final at the Woodford Folk Festival on New Year's Eve. Here they will compete for a feature at the 2012/2013 Festival, the coveted perpetual Slam trophy and $1,000 cash.
