Writing Competition

Ipswich Poetry Feast is an annual poetry writing competition giving poets of all ages the opportunity to compete for over $6,500 in prizes. Widely promoted to schools, libraries and the general community, this competition attracts local, interstate and global entries.

Opening Date Sunday 26 April 2020
Closing Date Friday 31 July 2020 at 5.00 pm
Prize Money Over $6,500 in prizes

1. Local Poets defined as: live, work or attend an educational institution in the Ipswich City Council region.
2. Picture Ipswich category: Poems submitted in this category must reflect an image from the Picture Ipswich website.

To be awarded to an individual whose poem has been identified by the judges as demonstrating significant potential and worthy of special attention.

School Award

To be awarded to a school on the basis of genuine commitment to, and engagement with, the spirit of the Ipswich Poetry Feast.
